RADCOM unveils new 3G troubleshooting correlation module
August 8, 2006
RADCOM announced a new Correlation Module for wireless network operators. The new tool is a sophisticated addition to the powerful Omni-Q converged monitoring system. It not only enables operators to trace a problematic call over various interfaces within the same domain, but it also allows them to track inter-domain activity. This is important because a failure indication in one network domain is often the effect of the source problem in another. For example, a poor radio link on the Radio Access segment may be the cause of a dropped call in the Core domain. The new Correlation Module reveals the root of the problem saving time, money and subscriber satisfaction.
An integrated component of the award-winning Omni-Q system, the Correlation Module works from Radio Access, through CS Core, PS Core, IT, SS7 and VoIP domains. Its end-to-end tracking ability gives operators comprehensive service insight that enables them to implement timely solutions to complex problems.
"The root cause of cellular service problems is often illusive. For example, when a subscriber is not allowed access to a specific service on the IT domain, the problem may present as low bandwidth utilization on the Access domain. Hence the need for a sophisticated tool that gives operators an end-to-end view of subscriber activity," said Doron Milchtaich, RADCOM's Director, Product Management - Cellular Solutions. "The Correlation Module fills that need."
