date: July 30, 2002

Sierra Wireless announced today it has been selected as a provider of 3G embedded wireless modems for Itronix Corporation's line of ruggedized, wireless-enabled notebook and handheld computers. Under the agreement, Sierra will provide 3G wireless products to Itronix, which currently uses several of Sierra Wireless's products to deliver rugged mobile computing solutions to its customers.

Itronix, a leader in the design and manufacture of wireless mobile computing solutions, will integrate the Sierra Wireless SB750A (designed for use with global GSM/GPRS networks), and the SB555A modem (operating on high-speed CDMA2000 1X networks) into its ruggedized product line, including the GoBook, GoBook Max, fex21, and other new products to be launched this year. The deal also includes an open agreement to purchase other Sierra Wireless products in the future.

"Our customers demand the highest standards in reliability and performance, and that's why we offer 3G products from Sierra Wireless," said Matt Gerber, VP Marketing, Itronix Corp. "Itronix products are designed specifically to meet the durability demands of the harsh mobile computing environment and to provide the highest levels of wireless performance. By partnering with Sierra Wireless, our customers can count on being connected to their critical applications whenever and wherever they need them."
